What we do

People often ask ‘What does SHRA do?’  We do many things: organise regular events; support our heritage assets; protect the environment; monitor roads & transport; monitor planning applications; support our businesses; liaise with other community groups.  Our work is recorded in our e-newsletter or Bulletin which is published three times a year in spring, summer and winter.  You can find past issues of the Bulletin here.  To receive information about SHRA’s activities by email, you need to sign up to our mailing list.  The links in this section will take you to a particular Bulletin, but you will need look at the first Contents page to find the relevant pages of the article you want to read.

Heritage Assets

SHRA supports our two major heritage assets – Strawberry Hill House and Pope’s Grotto – through publicising their programme of events and helping with fund raising.

Environment

SHRA aims to enhance the local environment through our regular litter picks meeting at Wellesley Parade from 9-10am on the second Saturday of every month.  We also look after the planter in Tower Road and monitor the Wellesley Parade Recycling Centre.

Roads & Transport

SHRA monitors proposed development affecting roads and CPZs, and liaises with Network Rail and South Western Railways about our station.

Planning

Business
