SHRA has been researching some of the older large houses now demolished.  We have also been offering a house history service to local residents.  Our local historians, working with colleagues on the Committee, have produced house histories for several residents.  The work involves at least one visit to the Richmond Local Studies Library, for example, to examine former residents listed in the Electoral Register.  In addition, we study former residents using the Census and Birth, Marriage and Death records.  In return for a written report, we ask for a modest contribution to SHRA funds (£25).  To discuss a house history, please email us at contact@shra.org.uk.
